October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The National Cancer Institute estimates that there are almost 3 million women living with breast cancer in the US. While many breast cancer survivors may share similar experiences, no two cancer journeys are the same. Treatment plans can differ greatly from patient to patient.
In this webinar, learn how and why the breast cancer experience differs from patient to patient from Gina Shay-Zapien, APRN, RNC, MSN, CNS-BC, and Mary Visceglia, RN, BSN, OCN. Both Shay-Zapien and Visceglia have years of experience as nurse navigators working with breast cancer patients. Shay-Zapien will also share her own experience as a breast cancer survivor.
Additionally, hear from PearlPoint’s Cancer Nutrition Educator, Margaret Martin, RD, MS, LDN, CDE about how nutrition can help breast cancer survivors feel their best while going through treatment. Nutrition is a valuable tool to help manage side effects such as nausea, fatigue, and loss of appetite.
Recorded October 27, 2015.
