Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Response to COVID-19
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is taking steps to modify its nutrition programs, including child nutrition programs and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), to ease program operations and protect the health of participants. USDA Meals for Kids Site Finder
To ensure that children who rely on free or reduced-price meals at school are able to get the nutrition they need, USDA is working with states to continue providing meals to students.Families can use this tool to find directions to nearby sites as well as hours of operation and contact information. 2-1-1 is the telephone number of a call center that offers information and provides referrals to health and human services for everyday needs and in times of crisis. Services vary by community. Call 2-1-1 to find resources in your area such as food banks, soup kitchens, meal delivery, and other assistance programs.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

The CSFP works to improve the health of low-income persons age 60 or older. The program is run by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), an agency of the United State Department of Agriculture. To apply, you must contact your state’s distributing agency (SDA). You can find your SDA contact information on the USDA website.
