The weather is getting warmer. Summer is just around the corner. You may already be daydreaming about an upcoming trip or vacation. Do you love having your toes in the sand at the beach? A hike in a mountainous national park may be more your style. What about an overseas adventure? If you have children, a trip to an amusement park might be on the calendar. You may even decide to keep it simple and just visit with family and friends or hangout at the local pool.
When preparing for your vacation, don’t forget to take a TIME OUT to make sure your trip is safe, restful, and of course, fun! Check out the infographic below for tips for cancer patients and their families to make the most of trips.

Before you hit the road or take off on a jet plane, talk to your healthcare team about travel. If you are immunosuppressed, still in active treatment, or recovering from surgery, it may not be safe for you to travel or be far from home. If your doctor does give you the okay for travel, ask if there are any extra precautions you need to take to keep yourself safe and well while out of town.
