The Thanksgiving holiday is the perfect time to reflect on all of the accomplishments of the past year. At PearlPoint, we have much for which to be grateful. However, we could not have done any of our work without the generosity of our supporters. During this holiday season, we would like to give thanks to all of our donors and take this time to highlight a few in particular.
The Jon Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament presented by the Tennessee Wireless Association saw another great year and raised over $30,000. In addition to all of the participants, corporate sponsors and the presenting sponsor, Tower Ventures, helped fund the event through donations to honor the life of Jon Hastings, the first President of TWA. This event could not have happened without the tireless efforts of Tennessee Wireless Association’s Steve Nicely, Sandra Abernathy, who worked with Jon Hastings before he passed away from lung cancer in 2002, and countless others. This was the 12th year for the event which has donated over $350,000 to PearlPoint since its inception.

The Sarah Cannon Research Institute continues to support our efforts through the Sarah Cannon Fund. Together we have raised over $40,000 to support our programs in the past year alone. Many individual supporters use the fund as a way to memorialize loved ones or honor survivors.
We are constantly grateful for the generosity of the Nashville Wine Auction. This organization makes it its mission to unite the wine community to fund the fight against cancer. Through events that combine a love for wine in the community with a firm commitment to supporting cancer efforts, the Nashville Wine Auction has raised over $20 million since it was created in 1980. We are honored to have received a $50,000 grant from this organization this year.
All of our donors help fund our efforts to create more confident cancer journeys for adults anytime, anywhere. We are able to do this by providing resources for anyone impacted by cancer through cancer education, nutrition consultations, resource navigation, and more. So far in 2016, 187 survivors received consults with our registered dietitian, Margaret Martin, for personalized nutrition education, and 178 created dashboards on My PearlPoint to download the Cancer Handbook and access other valuable resources. We therefore give thanks to all of our supporters that have helped make this year a great success.
From all of us at PearlPoint, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
